Patriarche has given special thought to designing several types of tour, which can cover a tour by a group of friends, a family tour, or a group visit.
You can access these various types of tour:
• without any reservation for the Tour for individuals (from 1 to 20 people),
• with a reservation for the Privilege Tour (5 to 30 people), the Group Tour (minimum 20 people), the Tour with Meal (from 25 to 250 people) or for Tours on special occasions, such as the Gourmet Celebrations or the wine tasting organised on the occasion of the Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction.
Tours of the Patriarche wine vaults follow a unique route, called the "Tasting Tour" punctuated by interactive video terminals.
Following this route you will learn about the history of the site (Patriarche was founded in 1780), about the cultivation of the vine in Burgundy and the great Burgundy wines which are matured in the vaults.
Visitors will enter a fascinating world. The Patriarche vaults, tunnelling under the Visitandines Convent, are amongst the biggest in all Burgundy. They consist of a single network of tunnels lying beneath the city of Beaune and dating from the XIII to the XVIII centuries. Visitors enter the vaults from a remarkable XVII Century chapel. Millions of bottles of wine are happily resting in this subterranean world.
Visitors are welcomed by expert wine advisers (sommeliers) who will guide them through the tasting, discovering some of Burgundy's great wines.
There is a shop where you can purchase bottles of wine tasted during the tour, as well as many other Burgundian wines, with some vintages going back as far as 1904.
The Patriarche Wine Vaults are open every weekday throughout the year (*).
Please take a look at the details of these various types of Patriarche Tours of the vaults, choose which one suits you best, and discover the great Burgundian wines which will be offered.
