The Couvent des Visitandines

The Visitation Order, founded by Jeanne de Chantal, became established in Beaune in 1632. At first, the nuns lived in a small house but, in 1636, moved into the building we know today.
Over the years, donations grew and the convent expanded considerably.
By the late 18th century, they owned houses, land, and vineyards.
