André
Boisseaux took over Patriarche Père
et Fils in 1940
He managed the company for more than half
a century, demonstrating creative, visionary
qualities. He was also one of the first
to see the importance of brands. André
Boisseaux understood that products should
be given memorable names and recognised
the need to use modern communication methods,
such as radio, to promote and advertise
Patriarche wines.
In
June 1963, in honour of the "Prestige
de la France" certificate the company
had received, André Boisseaux put
away 2,134 bottles of the 1959 vintage in
a special vault, called Le Caveau de l'An
2000 . These were only opened in the year
2000, during a memorable celebration.
Passionate about his profession and devoted
to promoting the image of Burgundy, André
Boisseaux was the most important buyer at
the Vente
des Vins des Hospices de Beaune
. He died in March 1998.
His son Jacques Boisseaux now manages the
company, continuing the excellent work carried
out by his father.
