Climat
: In Burgundy, this word refers to a
vineyard plot.
Pièce
: This is the name given, in Burgundy,
to 228 litre oak barrels, each containing approximately
300 bottles of wine.
Bottle
ageing : Once bottled, the wine is stored
in a cellar until it reaches its peak, and is ready
to be enjoyed. During this time, fruit aromas begin
to fade as oak, mushroom, and humus overtones appear.
A cellar should be cool, without excessive temperature
variation (around 10°C), and have good humidity. |
